FAQs

What is LVT flooring?

LVT stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile. It is a durable and versatile flooring option that recreates the appearance of natural wood while providing excellent water resistance and straightforward maintenance.

What is the difference between LVT and SPC flooring?

LVT is a flexible vinyl flooring that is typically secured directly to the subfloor using adhesive. SPC flooring has a rigid composite core and is generally installed as a floating floor using a click-lock system.

Is LVT flooring waterproof?

LVT flooring is highly water-resistant, making it suitable for areas where spills and moisture are common. Spillages should still be cleaned promptly to prevent water from reaching the subfloor.

Where can LVT flooring be installed?

LVT flooring is suitable for most areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, bedrooms, living rooms and hallways.

How much LVT flooring should I order?

Calculate the total floor area and add approximately 10% for cuts, wastage and future repairs. Herringbone installations and unusually shaped rooms may require a larger allowance.

Can I install LVT flooring myself?

LVT flooring can be installed by experienced DIY customers, but careful subfloor preparation and accurate placement are essential. Herringbone patterns and complex rooms may be better suited to professional installation.

Does LVT flooring need underlay?

No. Our LVT flooring is fitted directly to the prepared subfloor using a suitable flooring adhesive, so a separate underlay is not required.

What condition should the subfloor be in?

The subfloor must be dry, clean, smooth, stable and level. Any cracks, dips, high spots or loose areas should be corrected before installation to achieve an even and secure finish.

Can LVT flooring be used with underfloor heating?

Yes. LVT flooring can be used with underfloor heating. Ensure the heating system is installed correctly and increase the temperature gradually to avoid sudden temperature changes.

How should I clean LVT flooring?

Regularly remove dust and grit using a soft broom or suitable vacuum attachment. Clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for vinyl flooring. Avoid abrasive products, harsh chemicals and excessive water.

Is LVT flooring suitable for pets and busy homes?

Yes. LVT flooring is durable, easy to clean and resistant to everyday stains, making it ideal for busy family homes with children and pets. Use entrance mats and furniture pads to help protect against scratches.

Do you supply flooring accessories?

No. We do not supply trim, beading, adhesive or underlay for our LVT flooring. These will need to be purchased separately before installation.

Does LVT flooring come with a guarantee?

Yes. Our LVT flooring is covered by a 25-year guarantee, giving you long-term confidence in its quality and durability.
